Holland Clinic's Infection Control Policies

At Holland Clinic, the health and safety of our patients and staff are our top priorities. We recognize the significant impact that COVID-19 has had on our community and the world, and we have adapted our infection control policies to address the ongoing pandemic and other contagious illnesses, such as influenza and RSV.

Compliance with Public Health Orders

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to follow the public health orders issued by the Governor, which currently require the use of masks when seeing patients. We are in full compliance with these orders, and we appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines when visiting our clinic.

Broader Infection Control Measures

In addition to complying with COVID-19-specific guidelines, we have implemented comprehensive infection control measures to protect against the transmission of all contagious illnesses, including influenza and RSV.

These measures include:
  • Hand hygiene: We encourage all patients and staff to practice good hand hygiene, including washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content.

  • Respiratory etiquette: We ask patients and staff to cover their mouth and nose with a tissue or their elbow when coughing or sneezing and to dispose of used tissues in the trash immediately.

  • Personal protective equipment (PPE): Our healthcare providers and staff wear appropriate PPE, including masks, gloves, and gowns, when necessary.

  • Cleaning and disinfection: We regularly clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces and patient care areas using EPA-approved disinfectants.

  • Patient screening: We screen all patients for symptoms of contagious illnesses before their appointments, and we may reschedule appointments for patients experiencing symptoms or those who have been in close contact with a confirmed case.

Education and Updates

We stay up-to-date on the latest guidelines and recommendations from public health authorities and professional organizations, and we adjust our infection control policies as needed. We also provide ongoing education to our staff on infection prevention and control best practices.

In summary, Holland Clinic is committed to providing a safe environment for our patients and staff. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a high standard of infection control. If you have any questions or concerns about our infection control policies, please feel free to contact our office.
